So it begins. With several new board members and lots of good energy, we begin the planning of the second annual Monterey Bay Youth Outdoor Day. For those of you who didn't attend last years event, I hope you will make it this year. We plan to expand the exhibitors, have more free raffle prizes and more safety instruction. This year we also plan to introduce healthy eating and organic gardening. We believe that if the kids of today learn to stay active, stay outside, take care of our central coast and take care of what they put into their bodies, we will have healthier happier and more well rounded leaders for our future.
This is a huge undertaking, as you can imagine. This year we really need to collect more donations so we can expand to more kids and teenagers. We hope to raise no less than $10,000 this year. This is a call to the community. If you are or you know someone who is in the position to help with either cash donations or raffle prizes, please contact us at: [email protected]
We are asking all past exhibitors and new potential exhibitors to please fill out the registration form that is on our site. We hope that we will fill all the spots this year, so don't wait and sign up soon. Also spread the word that we are looking for student volunteers from 15 years to 21 years to help with set up the day before and activities the day of the event as well as clean up the day after.
Hopefully with my next post I will have a exhibitor list to share and an update on fundraising. Tell everyone you know about this wonderful totally free day of actives and prizes.
